Can They Be Friends?
Summary
Ms. Shockley was born in Blacksburg, Virginia, but moved to
Athens, Georgia at a young age and has been a Georgian ever
since. She obtained her BA in English with honors from the University
of Georgia in 1997, and after working for several years with
the Carl Vinson Institute of Government as an Education Program
Specialist; she entered the University of Georgia School of
Law. While in law school, Ms. Shockley served on the Editorial
Board of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law in which her
article, The Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the First
Amendment, Can They Be Friends? was published. Ms. Shockley
graduated with honors from Georgia Law in 2002.
Prior to joining Kessler Schwarz & Solomiany, PC in 2007
in order to devote one hundred percent of her practice to family
law, Ms. Shockley practiced business litigation and family law
with the firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP
in Atlanta.
Ms. Shockley is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the
Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Women
Lawyers. She is also a member of the Family Law and Litigation
Sections of the Bar, as well as the Young Lawyers Division.
Ms. Shockley has also been a member of the Lamar Inn of Court
since 2004.
Ms. Shockley is married to Jamie Shockley, who is in electrical
sales with World Electric Supply in Atlanta. They are the proud
parents of an adorable one-eyed Boykin Spaniel named Jack.
